The BR6000 is EPCOS/TDK's intelligent automatic power factor correction controller for panels requiring between 6 and 12 switching stages. It provides full reactive power management including leading/lagging power factor detection, individual stage switching optimisation, capacitor bank monitoring for degraded or failed stages, and harmonic level monitoring to prevent switching under adverse network conditions. The full graphic multilingual LCD display provides real-time power factor, reactive power, individual stage status and alarm information without requiring separate monitoring software. Three output technology options cover the full range of PFC switching requirements: relay outputs (BR6000 R6/R12) for conventional switching of standard duty capacitors in low-switching-frequency applications; thyristor outputs (BR6000-T6/T12) for dynamic switching under 20ms in applications with rapidly varying reactive power loads such as welding machines and EAF installations; and the mixed BR6000-T6R6 variant combining both technologies for installations with both base load and dynamic load components on the same bus. The BR6000 supports RS485 Modbus communication for integration with building energy management systems and industrial SCADA platforms. All variants share the same 138x138mm DIN 43700 / IEC 61554 panel cutout and the same programming interface, enabling standardised panel designs and spare parts management across different panel configurations within the same project.
