When a screened, symmetrical separable connector is needed to terminate polymeric-insulated MV cables onto Interface C bushings (for gas-insulated switchgear, transformers, or motors up to 42 kV), the Nexans Euromold 400TB and 440TB series is what we specify. The 400TB family covers 16–300 mm² conductors across the 12–42 kV range, while the heavier-duty 440TB family extends up to 630 mm² conductors across the same voltage range.

About this product

The Nexans Euromold 400TB and 440TB series are symmetrical, screened separable T-connectors used to terminate polymeric-insulated medium-voltage cables onto Interface C bushings (per EN 50180 / EN 50181) in gas-insulated switchgear, transformers, and motors rated up to 42 kV. Each connector bridges a C1 and a C2 bushing interface, which carry different continuous current ratings: 630 A on the C1 side and 1250 A on the C2 side. This bushing-class rating is a separate property from the connector's own conductor cross-section capacity, and the two should not be read as interchangeable when specifying a replacement or new installation. The 400TB family handles 16–300 mm² conductors (35–240 mm² on the 36 kV and 42 kV variants) with a 12.0–37.5 mm cable insulation diameter. The 440TB family extends this to 185–630 mm² conductors with a 23.5–55.0 mm insulation diameter, for higher-current and larger-cable applications. Both families use an EPDM rubber body, accept aluminium or copper conductors via a bolted mechanical connection, and support cable outer-sheath testing without removing the connector. An optional +MWS variant is available for outdoor and humid-environment installations; the standard version is rated for indoor use.
