About this product

PhaseCap Compact is EPCOS/TDK's space-optimised cylindrical capacitor for automatic power factor correction banks where panel space is the primary constraint. With housing diameters of only 116mm and 136mm, PhaseCap Compact allows significantly higher capacitor density in the same panel enclosure volume — critical for retrofit PFC installations where the existing panel cabinet cannot be enlarged and for new designs in tight spaces such as switchgear-integrated PFC modules. Despite its compact dimensions, PhaseCap Compact maintains full performance specifications including self-healing MKK film technology, inrush current tolerance up to 400 times rated current for compatibility with C24 capacitor duty contactors, and outputs up to 33 kVAr per unit. Both gas-filled and resin-impregnated versions are available covering voltage ranges from 230V to 1000V, compatible with standard European LV network voltages and high-efficiency drive system bus voltages. Typical applications include PFC retrofit projects in existing LV switchboards where additional capacitor volume cannot be accommodated in the original enclosure, switchgear-integrated PFC compartments where overall panel depth is constrained, and new PFC panel designs targeting minimum footprint for space-constrained plant rooms or data centre electrical rooms.
