About this product

The Schneider Electric P5x30 is the most advanced relay in the EasyLogic P5 platform — a withdrawable MV protection relay with integrated arc flash detection, dual redundant Ethernet and backup memory for zero-configuration relay replacement in ten minutes. The withdrawable design with memory backup is a key requirement for utility and industrial substations where relay maintenance must be possible without protection outage. The arc flash detection system uses integrated optical light point sensors that activate in microseconds regardless of fault current level, providing arc flash clearing times that cannot be achieved by overcurrent-based protection alone. ZigBee wireless condition monitoring enables remote monitoring of switchgear internal conditions including partial discharge, humidity and temperature without requiring wired sensors into the switchgear compartment — a significant safety advantage for primary MV switchgear. Up to 40 digital inputs and 16 relay outputs support the most complex bay control and interlocking requirements, and dual Ethernet with PRP, HSR and RSTP redundancy protocols provides the highest communication availability for IEC 61850 substation automation. Typical applications include primary MV switchgear in utility transmission and distribution substations, industrial primary switchgear in critical facilities where arc flash risk management and continuous protection availability are primary design requirements, new-build substations specified with IEC 61850 IED architecture and withdrawable protection, and retrofit programs in existing primary switchgear where improved arc flash protection and digital communication are the primary objectives.
