When essential feeder, voltage, or frequency protection is needed in a compact and cost-effective platform, the PowerLogic P1 Series is what we specify. P1F handles feeder, incomer, and transformer backup protection, while P1V covers busbar voltage, frequency, generator interface, and load-shedding supervision. Both share the same flush-mounted case, with CT or LPCT options and RS485 communication available on selected models, making the series a strong fit for retrofitting older electromechanical relays as well as new installations with limited panel space.

About this product

PowerLogic P1 Series is designed to provide essential current, voltage, and frequency protection in a compact relay platform. The range can be used in MV systems and in LV applications where standard protection functions are required.

Model structure

  • PowerLogic P1F: Current-based protection relay for feeder, incomer, and transformer backup protection.
  • PowerLogic P1V: Voltage-based protection relay for busbar voltage, frequency, generator interface, and load-shedding applications.

P1F and P1V share the same compact platform, but their measurement inputs and protection scopes are different. Model-specific data must therefore remain in separate structured variant rows rather than being combined in the family-level Key Specs panel.

Selection approach

P1F is suited to radial feeders and backup protection applications requiring essential overcurrent and earth fault protection. Directional earth fault, auto-reclosing, and more advanced recording capabilities depend on the selected P1F relay model.

P1V is used where under and overvoltage, negative-sequence voltage, neutral displacement, frequency, and rate of change of frequency (ROCOF) supervision are required. PowerLogic P3 or P5 should be considered when IEC 61850, advanced automation, or a wider application scope is required.

Retrofit use

Its compact flush-mounted construction, front-panel configuration, and RS485 communication on selected models make P1 suitable for replacing older electromechanical or basic numerical relays. Final selection must consider the existing CT/VT arrangement, active protection functions, digital I/O, communication protocol, and panel cut-out dimensions.
