Models S20 through S84 cover basic overcurrent (S20), directional protection (S40/S41/S42) and advanced substation functions (S80/S81/S82/S84), all in the same proven Sepam platform.
About this product
The Schneider Electric Sepam S Series is the most widely deployed MV feeder and substation protection relay family in the Sepam range, covering the complete spectrum from basic radial feeder overcurrent to advanced directional and voltage/frequency protection for complex distribution network topologies. The series spans nine models organised into three function tiers: the S20/S23 tier for basic feeder protection; the S40/S41/S42 tier adding directional overcurrent (67), directional earth fault (67N) and voltage/frequency protection for meshed networks and isolated neutral systems; and the S80/S81/S82/S84 tier for advanced substation protection with high I/O counts, ROCOF disconnection and comprehensive voltage and frequency monitoring. All models communicate via RS485 using IEC 60870-5-103 or Modbus RTU protocols and support an optional advanced graphical UMI display panel for on-site parameter access and disturbance record reading without a laptop. Two setting groups are standard across all models for night/day or normal/maintenance protection setting profiles, and all models include breaker control and interlocking functions for direct integration with the switchgear bay control scheme. Typical applications include DSO distribution substation feeder bay protection in the Turkish utility network, industrial MV switchgear feeder and incomer protection, renewable energy substation feeder protection, and industrial primary switchgear including motor starters, transformer feeders and bus couplers. The Sepam S series is extensively used across Turkey in utility and industrial installations and the broad model range ensures that the appropriate function level can be specified for each application without over-specifying or under-protecting.
