About this product
The THC-100D is Orion EE's basic anti-condensation heating controller for MV and LV switchgear enclosures, providing automatic heating element control based on ambient conditions without a visible display. Condensation inside electrical enclosures causes insulation degradation, contact corrosion and tracking faults that develop slowly over months or years — the THC-100D prevents this by maintaining enclosure temperature above the dew point using a resistive heating element. The control algorithm activates the heater when temperature falls below a set threshold or when relative humidity exceeds a safe limit, and deactivates it when conditions normalise. The device requires a single temperature-humidity sensor connected to its input and controls one relay output to switch the heating element. The absence of a display makes it suitable for enclosures where access is infrequent and panel space is at a premium, such as kiosk-type substations, outdoor metering cabinets and compact ring main units. The controller is configured via DIP switches or internal trimmers and requires no software tools. For applications where the current temperature and humidity readings must be visible from outside the enclosure, or where sensor fault detection is required, the THC-102 or THC-202 provide more capable configurations within the Orion EE climate control range.
