About this product
The THC-102 is Orion EE's LED-status anti-condensation heating controller for MV and LV switchgear enclosures, adding front-panel LED status indication and sensor fault detection to the basic heating control functions. The LED indicators provide immediate confirmation of operating status — heater active, standby, or sensor fault — without needing to open the enclosure for inspection, which is particularly useful for maintenance crews conducting routine panel checks across multiple installations. The sensor fault detection function generates an alarm output when the temperature-humidity sensor connection is interrupted, distinguishing between a genuine condensation-free condition and an undetected sensor failure. The device controls a single heating element relay output based on inputs from one combined temperature and humidity sensor. It accepts a standard auxiliary power supply range and is suitable for both new installations and retrofit upgrades from basic bimetallic thermostat controllers. The sensor fault alarm output can be connected to a SCADA digital input or local alarm system for remote monitoring of heating system integrity. Typical applications include secondary substation ring main units and cable junction boxes where heating system status monitoring is part of the maintenance programme, and industrial MV panel installations where undetected sensor failures could lead to condensation damage. The THC-202 provides a further upgrade with LCD display and real-time temperature and humidity readout when measured values need to be readable from the panel front.
