UMG 509-PRO Power Quality Analyzer

UMG 509-PRO
JanitzaPower Quality Analyzer

When power quality analysis with integrated residual current monitoring is needed in a panel-mounted device — and the application does not require Class A certification — the UMG 509-PRO is what we specify. It measures harmonics to the 63rd, supports multiple communication protocols and includes a web server for browser-based access without additional software.

About this product

The UMG 509-PRO is Janitza's Class S power quality analyser with integrated residual current monitoring, designed as a panel-mounted device for comprehensive power quality measurement in LV and MV/LV substation applications. It measures all standard power quality parameters including voltage and current harmonics to the 63rd order, inter-harmonics, voltage fluctuation, flicker, frequency deviation and unbalance — providing sufficient data for EN 50160 compliance verification and power quality problem diagnosis in most industrial and commercial installations. The integrated RCM function eliminates the need for a separate residual current monitoring device at the same measurement point. The built-in web server enables browser-based access to live data and configuration without requiring GridVis software installation, simplifying deployment in facilities where software licensing or IT infrastructure constraints make dedicated software impractical. Multiple communication protocols are supported including RS485, Modbus RTU, Modbus TCP over Ethernet, Profibus DP and Profinet — enabling direct integration with most industrial automation and SCADA platforms without additional gateways. Typical applications include MV/LV substation incomers in commercial buildings, data centres and industrial facilities where power quality monitoring is required without the Class A certification needed for DSO grid connection points, manufacturing facilities where harmonic sources such as variable speed drives must be monitored for compliance with grid connection agreements, and building energy management systems where power quality data complements energy consumption metering.
