UMG 512-PRO Class A Power Quality Analyzer

UMG 512-PRO
JanitzaPower Quality Analyzer

When the application requires Class A certified power quality measurement — for example at the point of common coupling in a DSO network, in a data center, or for energy dispute resolution — the UMG 512-PRO is what we specify. It measures all PQ parameters to IEC 61000-4-30 Class A with integrated RCM and supports EN 50160 compliance reporting via GridVis software.

About this product

The UMG 512-PRO is Janitza's Class A certified power quality analyser, designed for measurement applications where IEC 61000-4-30 Class A accuracy and traceability are required — including DSO grid connection points, energy dispute resolution, data centre electrical infrastructure monitoring and regulated utility measurement locations. Class A certification means that all power quality parameters are measured with the highest defined accuracy and using the time-synchronised methods specified by the standard, ensuring that measurements are legally defensible and directly comparable between different instruments at different network locations. The instrument measures all IEC 61000-4-30 parameters at 20 kHz continuous sampling rate and includes integrated residual current monitoring, 4 current inputs, 4 voltage inputs, a thermistor input for transformer temperature monitoring and 256MB internal memory for long-term data logging without gaps. A built-in web server provides browser-based access and GridVis software provides full historical analysis, EN 50160 automated compliance reporting and alarm management. Optional BACnet communication ensures integration with building management systems. Typical applications include the point of common coupling (PCC) at DSO substation incomers where EN 50160 compliance monitoring is a grid connection requirement, data centres where electrical infrastructure is subject to continuous audit and performance guarantees, industrial facilities with grid connection agreements specifying Class A measurement compliance, and energy supply dispute resolution situations where legally defensible power quality measurement records are required.
