About this product

The UMG 800 is Janitza's modular power quality and energy monitoring platform for large industrial facilities and data centres requiring centralised measurement across multiple supply points and load groups. Unlike fixed-function panel analysers, the UMG 800 uses a base unit combined with interchangeable function modules that can be added to expand measurement capacity for current, residual current and temperature channels as the monitoring programme grows — eliminating the need to replace the base unit when additional measurement channels are required. The base unit provides 4 multifunction measurement channels, 2 groups of 4 digital I/O, colour graphic display, 4GB internal memory for extended data logging, OPC UA communication for direct ERP and SCADA integration, and Modbus/Ethernet connectivity. Function modules extend the platform with additional current measurement channels, RCM residual current monitoring channels and temperature measurement inputs, all feeding data to the base unit for centralised processing and reporting via GridVis. Typical applications include data centres requiring continuous power quality monitoring across multiple MSB and distribution boards with centralised reporting, large manufacturing facilities with multiple production lines and transformer feeds where energy management requires comprehensive cross-plant measurement, hospital and healthcare facilities where electrical supply quality monitoring supports clinical equipment reliability programmes, and industrial energy management projects targeting ISO 50001 certification.
