The UMG 96-EL is Janitza's entry-level 96mm panel energy logger, designed for applications where straightforward energy measurement, data logging and communication are required without the full power quality analysis capability of the higher-specification UMG models. It provides accurate three-phase energy metering with data logging to internal memory and connectivity via RS485, Modbus and Ethernet, with MQTT protocol support for direct integration with IoT energy monitoring platforms — making it suitable for both conventional SCADA integration and modern cloud-connected energy management systems. The 96x96mm DIN panel format provides direct installation in standard panel cutouts used across LV distribution boards, motor control centres and machine panels. Internal memory stores historical energy data for retrieval via communication interface or GridVis software, providing the data continuity needed for billing reconciliation, energy management reporting and ISO 50001 measurement plans. Typical applications include individual sub-metering points in commercial buildings and industrial facilities where consumption data per department or production line is required for energy cost allocation, tenant energy billing sub-metering in multi-tenant properties, machine-level energy metering in manufacturing facilities for production energy intensity tracking, and IoT-connected energy monitoring deployments where MQTT integration with cloud energy management platforms is the primary data path.
