The UMG 96-RM series is Janitza's most versatile 96mm panel analyser range, providing harmonic measurement to the 40th order with a broad selection of communication protocol and I/O options across six pre-configured variants. Each variant targets a specific communication infrastructure: the base UMG 96-RM provides RS485 Modbus for simple integration; the RM-E adds Ethernet with 256MB memory; the CBM variant adds a Janitza bus module; the M variant provides a Modbus gateway function; the P variant adds Profibus DP for Siemens automation system integration; and the PN variant provides Profinet for Siemens TIA Portal-based projects. The series is designed for LV and MV distribution system monitoring where the combination of power quality measurement, energy management and direct communication with automation systems is required from a single panel device. Digital I/O is included for alarm outputs and status inputs, and internal memory on selected variants enables data logging for periods without continuous communication. Typical applications include LV switchboard and MCC monitoring in industrial facilities using Siemens, Schneider or other automation platforms, process industry installations where the panel analyser must communicate directly with the plant DCS over Profibus or Profinet, commercial building electrical installations where Modbus integration with BMS is standard, and multi-site industrial groups where standardisation on a single analyser model across all sites is preferred for maintenance and spare parts management.
